Plaza Mayor

Since the 15th century, the Plaza Mayor has been the main market in the town, as well as the scene of numerous public events (bullfights, acts of faith or public executions). The beatification of San Isidro, Madrid's patron saint, was also celebrated here.

Hospitality shops currently abound in its arcades. Concerts take place here, during the San Isidro festivities, and the traditional Christmas market, a custom that has been in force since 1860.
